The Board has specifically approved attorneys to earn CLE credits for non-live educational formats. An alternative verifiable learning format course is defined as any video tape, audio tape, remote place viewing or on-line internet computer presentation, satellite simulcast, teleconferencing, videoconferencing, internet self-study, or other alternative format hereafter developed by an approved service provider authorized by the Board.
Half of the CLE compliance requirements may be met through courses taken through alternative verifiable learning formats, if approved for CLE course accreditation. Those alternative verifiable learning formats must have a reliable method of verifying and recording lawyer attendance to qualify for accreditation. The provider must provide to the attorney a Certificate of Attendance confirming successful completion of the approved alternative learning format course only upon verification that the course was in fact completed. NJ Law Credits has incorporated third-party technology to verify and to record lawyer attendance.
